My approach to therapy is rooted in an understanding that we are all uniquely shaped by the contextual factors of our lives. I take great care in working to truly understand my clients and their personal histories in order to tailor therapy to their specific needs and to provide a non-judgmental, warm, collaborative environment. I will work alongside you to help unpack the different components that form your whole self as your work toward personal growth, increased self awareness, and healing.
I have a strong interest in working with young adults facing an array of difficulties, including anxiety, depressed mood, low self-esteem, as well as relationship and family-related difficulties. My clinical approach is integrative, which means that I incorporate aspects of various therapeutic techniques that help facilitate change. These include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), attachment-based therapies, and mindfulness-based approaches. We will work together to better understand your thoughts, emotions, and experiences, and build on your personal strengths so that you can take gradual steps toward real change. In our work, we may also spend time identifying solutions to personal dilemmas as they arise in your life or develop improved emotional coping strategies and self-care practices.
I received my MA in Counseling for Mental Health and Wellness from NYU Steinhardt where I trained as a therapist working with adolescent and adult clients in a private counseling setting. I also have a background working in community mental health with a focus on behavior management.
