Rafael Levy, PsyD
Clinical Psychologist

I work with individuals navigating anxiety, depression, and a wide range of relationship concerns, including difficulties with communication, boundaries, intimacy, and patterns that feel hard to break. Many of the people I work with feel overwhelmed, stuck, or unsure why certain struggles keep repeating despite their best efforts. My goal is to help you feel supported, understood, and empowered as we work together to create meaningful and lasting change.

My therapeutic style is warm, thoughtful, and deeply collaborative. I place great importance on truly getting to know you - not just the challenges you’re facing, but the context of your life, your relationships, and the experiences that have shaped how you see yourself and the world. I believe you are the expert on your own inner experience, and therapy works best when it honors your insight, values, and readiness for growth. Together, we move at a pace that feels both supportive and productive, balancing reflection with forward movement.

I am especially interested in helping clients develop greater insight into their emotional and relational patterns, as increased self-understanding often opens the door to healing and personal growth. Many clients find that as they begin to understand how past experiences influence current thoughts, emotions, and relationships, they feel more empowered to respond differently and make choices that align more closely with who they want to be.

My approach integrates Relational Therapy and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), allowing us to address both the emotional roots of distress and the practical strategies that can help alleviate it. This means we work not only to relieve immediate symptoms, but also to foster deeper, more comprehensive change that supports long-term well-being.

I received my doctorate from Long Island University, Post Campus. I completed my clinical training at the Brooklyn VA, the New York Psychoanalytic Society and Institute, the William Alanson White Institute, and the NYU Counseling and Wellness Center.
