Rafael Levy, PsyD
Clinical Psychologist

I strive to understand and meet the unique individual needs of each of my clients. My belief that my clients are the experts on themselves, plays an integral part of the collaborative therapy process. I listen carefully and work to help my clients navigate difficult thoughts and emotions, overcome challenges, and gain insight into their lives. I find that developing a greater understanding of interpersonal relationships is often the key to an individual’s growth and healing.

While I help clients with range of issues, my areas of specialization include treating depression, anxiety, and working with individuals who have histories of trauma, grief, and loss. I am also experienced in working with those who have severe or chronic health issues, such as cancer.

I have extensive training in both Relational Therapy and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). Thus, while I spend a great deal of time working to help my clients understand and process their experiences, my approach remains goal oriented. I readily provide help toward symptom management/relief and helping clients develop improved coping skills, when requested or needed.

I received my doctorate from Long Island University, Post Campus. I completed my clinical training at the Brooklyn VA, the New York Psychoanalytic Society and Institute, the William Alanson White Institute, and the NYU Counseling and Wellness Center.  I completed my clinical internship at the University of Vermont Medical Center.
