Nicholette Lewis, PhD Clinical Psychologist

I believe therapy is a space where people deserve to feel seen, heard, and supported. Life can be challenging and overwhelming, and my goal is to create a warm, caring and nurturing environment where clients feel safe to explore their experiences, strengthen their relationships, and build resilience. I approach therapy with compassion and cultural humility, always considering each person’s values, identities, and goals.

My therapeutic approach is integrative, with a strong focus on developing insight and understanding patterns in emotions and relationships. I also incorporate cognitive behavioral therapy and internal family systems, as well as attachment-based and mindfulness-based approaches. I work collaboratively with clients navigating concerns such as anxiety, depression, trauma, parenting stress, interpersonal and family conflict, identity exploration, work-related stress, and life transitions.

I have nine years of experience providing psychotherapy to individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds and members of the LGBTQIA+ community. I am deeply committed to affirming and understanding the intersecting identities my clients hold and the ways lived experience and systems of oppression can impact mental health.

I earned my PhD and MA in Clinical Psychology from Adelphi University and have worked in a variety of settings, including Bronx Psychiatric Center, Nassau University Medical Center, Woodhull Hospital, private settings, and Adelphi University’s Counseling Center.
