Megan Rand, LMHC
Staff Therapist

The therapeutic space is a place for personal growth and healing where I work with my clients to meet their individual needs and unique goals by providing compassionate, goal-oriented care. I believe in the importance of openness, kindness, and empathy, regardless of the type of difficulties a client may bring to therapy.

While I work with clients to address many different types of problems, these difficulties usually include various types of anxiety, relationship difficulties (of all kinds), major life transitions, depressed mood, and processing traumatic or otherwise painful experiences. I see clients of all ages, however, I’ve recently been focusing more on working with young adults.

I have an integrative approach, which means I utilize aspects of several different types of therapy such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), relational therapy, insight-oriented therapy, and mindfulness-based approaches. Taken together, this means that my clients and I spend a good amount of time working to understand and to process past experiences but that we also spend a lot of time working on problems and difficulties of the here-and-now. We do this by developing coping strategies and by joining together to problem-solve ongoing issues. Sessions are always tailored to my clients’ specific needs.

I earned my Masters Degree in Counseling for Mental Health and Wellness from NYU, Steinhardt and have worked at multiple private practice settings in Manhattan.
