Dr. Kelly Yu is a clinical psychologist specializing in trauma, stress, anxiety, and relationship difficulties with individuals who identify within the BIPOC and LGBTQIA+ communities. In addition to working with individuals, Dr. Yu also works with couples within these communities. Dr. Yu takes an intersectional approach, providing a safe and affirming space for her clients to explore their experiences in therapeutic ways that facilitate meaningful change.

She is certified in Prolonged Exposure (PE), an evidenced based trauma treatment, and has received advanced training in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), the  Families Overcoming Under Stress (FOCUS) model, and evidence-based psychodynamic psychotherapy. She works with people across the lifespan and has particular experience with individuals within the BIPOC and LGBTQIA+ communities. Dr. Yu works with clients to improve wellbeing and to become increasingly empowered to achieve their personal goals. 

Dr. Yu received her doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Yeshiva University’s Ferkauf Graduate School of Psychology in New York City. Dr. Yu has worked in a variety of settings including major academic medical centers such as NYU Langone Medical Center and  Northwell Health Zucker Hillside Hospital in New York, and the VA Medical Center at Palo Alto.
