As a therapist I offer warm and compassionate support while working to help clients achieve their unique therapeutic goals. My work integrates relational and mindfulness-based cognitive behavioral therapies. I place great importance on the primacy of interpersonal relationships, which harness the power for transformational growth and healing. This is so for all relationships, and it is especially so for the therapeutic relationship.

While I help clients with a wide range of issues, my areas of specialization include addressing complex relational problems (primarily romantic and familial difficulties), the treatment of anxiety disorders, and working with individuals who have histories of trauma and complex trauma (those who have been exposed to repeated painful emotional experiences, typically during childhood).

My therapeutic approach is grounded in a genuine disposition of warmth and earnest compassion. I integrate evidence-based relational work and Cognitive Behavioral Therapies such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT). At times our work may focus on understanding past experiences, developing insight, and on processing difficult or painful emotions. At other times we may become more solution oriented, focused on the here-and-now. This can entail bolstering coping skills, developing mindfulness or relaxation practices, or problem-solving ongoing issues, together.

I have 15-years of experience practicing in private settings and at major medical centers in the area, including Mount Sinai, Beth Israel Medical Center, and Kings County Hospital. I have researched, taught, and written extensively on the topics of mindfulness, self-compassion, depression, anxiety, attachment, and the intersection of emotional and relational difficulties.
