Jean Kaluk, PhD
Clinical Psychologist

As a therapist and clinical supervisor at Soho Psychology, I take a strengths-based, person-centered, multicultural, trauma-informed approach to growth and healing. I am committed to supporting clients in their journeys towards feeling better and leading more meaningful lives.  I view each client within their own context and aim to develop strong, trusting therapeutic relationships where exploring experiences and challenges, as well as learning new skills and strategies, will lead to reaching your goals.

My therapeutic approach is integrative, drawing from Relational (Psychodynamic) Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Mindfulness Practices. I work flexibly and collaboratively and have experience helping clients with depression, anxiety, self-esteem/self-confidence issues, existential issues, trauma, intimacy and relationship challenges, health-related concerns, loss/grief, mild to moderate substance-use disorders, serious chronic mental health conditions, and personality disorders.

I earned my Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Long Island University, Brooklyn and have been practicing in the New York City area for over 20 years. In my work at Soho Psychology, I draw from my experience as a training director and supervisor for psychology doctoral interns and psychiatry residents at one of our city’s major medical centers.
