Gabriella Phillip, LMSW
Staff Therapist
My therapeutic approach is grounded in interpersonal warmth, sensitivity, and cultural humility. I prioritize creating a supportive, nonjudgmental space, centered on authenticity and acceptance of wherever my clients may be in their personal healing journeys. We will work collaboratively to address root causes of present challenges, understand and manage difficult emotions as they come up, and improve overall well-being.
I help clients with a wide range of issues including depression, anxiety, low self-esteem, post-traumatic stress, and attachment or relational difficulties. I take an integrative, trauma-informed approach, drawing from evidence-based modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Person-Centered Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). As a holistic therapist, I also incorporate mindfulness-based practices, including Somatic Experiencing (SE), particularly for clients with trauma histories.
As a Licensed Master of Social Work (LMSW), I have had the privilege of working with clients across the lifespan and from diverse backgrounds. I earned my master’s degree in social work from New York University and my Bachelor’s degree from Barnard College of Columbia University. Before joining Soho Psychology, I provided clinical therapy to adolescents and adults at the Park Slope Center for Mental Health.
